THE BIG CAT NAP

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

Harry, Mrs. Murphy and the rest of the gang are back in this 20th anniversary book. Some may find the large cast of quirky characters overwhelming, but they are laid out nicely at the beginning. Unfortunately, the mystery does not pick up until the latter half.

After Mary Minor “Harry” Haristeen and her friend are involved in a minor car accident, their car is taken to ReNu, a local collision repair shop. While there, Harry finds the body of mechanic Walt Richardson. Though the police are investigating, Harry is determined to solve the murder, along with her sleuthing pets. However, is she putting them all in danger … especially as other mechanics turn up dead? (BANTAM, Apr., 240 pp., $26.00)
