Book Review

THE BIG CHIHUAHUA
by Waverly Curtis

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Private Investigator

RT Rating

This series is hilarious! The antics of Geri and her talking dog make the reader laugh out loud. The heroine finds herself among a cult of dog worshippers who make quite an interesting cast of characters, but their tie-in to the mystery is not that strong. Overall an enjoyable read.

PI Geri Sullivan and her talking Chihuahua, Pepe, are helping a client win back his wife, a member of the Dogawandans, which is a group that believes the guru Dogawanda has taken the form of a dog. The client’s wife went to the group after a miscarriage and was told that her unborn child’s spirit was in her dog. Then she went on a weekend retreat and never returned. Geri and Pepe go in undercover and when one of the followers is murdered, Geri decides that it’s up to her to solve this case. (KENSINGTON, Oct., 320 pp., $7.99)
