THE BIG HEAT
Bounty hunter Cade is determined to follow his father's four-week rule for women. They get four weeks at the most, then the relationship is done. Then he meets Sunny, who's running for city council against an opponent using dirty tricks to defeat her. Since Cade's brother helped her opponent with advertising, Cade feels sorry for Sunny. Not sorry enough to end his four-week rule, but enough to hide her in his house after bailing her out of jail after a related incident. As attracted as she is to him, Sunny respects herself too much to agree to his term of four weeks, so they make a new deal. Strong setting, wonderful dialogue, a great hero and heroine and humor make The Big Heat (4), by Jennifer LaBrecque, fly.
