BIG SKY MOUNTAIN
This is a delightful addition to Miller’s Big Sky series. This author has a way with a phrase that is nigh-on poetic, and all of the snappy little interactions between the main and secondary characters make this story especially entertaining.
Hutch Carmody leaves his fiancée at the altar, realizing at the last minute that he just can’t marry a woman he doesn’t love. Kendra Shepherd is not exactly unhappy to hear this. She’s back in Parable, Mont., after a trip to England to see her dying ex-husband and months of searching for his 4-year-old daughter, whom he asked her to find and adopt. Even though Hutch has always held an infuriating attraction for her, Kendra has no plans to act on it — ever. Hutch had loved Kendra and thought she loved him, until his own jealousy ended their relationship and Kendra married another. Is it possible that fate is giving them a second chance?
