Set on Earth, Parv’s intriguing story features a misguided astronaut villain determined to save the world from the bad aliens, who actually aren’t that alien, and who are the only ones who can save the world from the truly bad ones. With a dash of romance and a bit of mystery to recommend it, this is one fascinating read.

Burton Hackett is convinced aliens have invaded Earth. It’s taken him 30 years to get a chance to get into space and destroy them, and he won’t let genius Adam Desai stop him. Adam is something more than he appears, as are astrologer Elaine Lovell and author Garrett Luken. Two attempts on Adam’s life, both witnessed by Elaine in psychic visions, convince her and Garrett that Adam is the one thought lost 30 years ago, the messenger to their watcher and listener. While Elaine and Garrett are only half Prana, Adam is full blood — alien yet human. Now if they can only convince Adam of this before Hackett completes his self-directed mission and places Earth in real danger. (CORVALLISPRESS.COM, dl $3.99)
