BITING THE BULLET
by Jennifer Rardin

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Urban Fantasy

RT Rating

Time for another Jaz Parks fix! The third chapter in Jaz's first-person adventure packs in more creepy supernatural elements and mixed-up motives. Rardin's series crackles with eerie excitement, irreverent humor and genuine chills. Her arrival on the scene is a gift to the urban fantasy world.

Jaz, Vayl and the rest of their CIA crew join forces with Jaz's twin brother Dave and his special-ops team as they hunt down the dangerous and traitorous necromancer, Wizard, who is hiding in Iran.

But things are complicated because Jaz has been demon marked and is being hunted by reavers, and it seems their team has a mole. When Vayl gets sidetracked, Jaz suspects they're all being manipulated. Even Jaz's spirit guide Raoul is being quite cryptic. Unless Jaz can discern the truth, they're all going to be in dire straits. (ORBIT, Feb., 314 pp., $12.99)
