Graves’ words flow on the page with ease and the pages turn effortlessly. Featuring characters that are unique yet very easy to relate to, Black Ties and Lullabies is simply a very well-written story. Bernie and Jeremy are not a likely couple and their journey to happiness is a long, yet satisfying one.

Bernie Hogan is bodyguard to multimillionaire playboy Jeremy Bridges, making her way in a world traditionally belonging to men. In a moment of misjudgment, Bernie and Jeremy share a tender moment. After discovering she is expecting, Bernie is determined to raise her baby on her own because Jeremy has never shown himself to be father material. Incensed that Bernie wasn’t going to give him a chance, Jeremy decides he’s going to be a part of their baby’s life every step of the way.
