This story is so fast paced with so many mesmerizing characters, “fantastic” is not high enough praise. Lyons proves once again that she is a master of suspense and nontraditional romance.

Sarah Durandt watches the monster who confessed to killing her son and husband put to death. She wants nothing more than for the crazed killer to tell her where her family is buried, but Damian Wright offers her nothing but a pitiful smile, as if Sarah is the true victim. Meanwhile, her attorney wants something from her and plans to do whatever it takes to get it, as FBI agent Caitlyn Tierney uncovers proof that the evidence was wrong in the Wright case. It seems somebody staged a cover-up that involves everyone from the police to the FBI to a Russian mob member who’s about to walk away a free man. And Caitlyn must join forces with a frightened widow to uncover the truth and bring the real killers to justice while Sarah continues her search for Sam and Josh. (LEGACY, Mar., 392 pp., $13.99)
