Sensuality: HOT

RT Rating

Based on the ongoing battle-of-the-bulge, weight-loss scenario, this is a completely entertaining love story. D'Andra Smalls and JuJuan "Night" Simmons are intelligent and without pretense, and it's a pleasure getting to know them. Day's use of humor and good sense creates a completely readable novel. This story proves that old plots can be redone with style and charm.

D'Andra's emergency room visit prompts her to finally take control of her weight and her life. When she meets personal trainer Night, he seems too good to be true, but she trusts her instincts, and the two eventually become business partners in Night's dream gym. This dovetails with nurse D'Andra's desire to make a healthy eating and living program in her community. As their feelings grow, complications arise. Will they realize what they've found in each other? (DAFINA, Mar., 356 pp., $6.99)
