BONE DEEP (4) by Janice Kay Johnson: After nursery owner Kat Riley wins an award, the bones of her husband, Hugh, who vanished a few years earlier, start turning up around her nursery. Sure that the bones are being left as a threat against Kat, police chief Grant Haller is determined to help the woman he’s been attracted to for years and solve the mystery of Hugh’s disappearance. The murder mystery adds depth to the romance. The fear of a killer on the loose helps Kat and Grant’s relationship progress and deepen more quickly. Grant’s stress over a threat to his job due to his relationship with Kat adds a nice extra layer of tension to the plot.
