BONES ARE FOREVER
The always excellent Reichs delivers a chilling tale of murder, infanticide and corruption. Dr. Temperance Brennan’s life continues to be filled with emotional bumps, as past relationships may hamper an investigation. As always, there are plenty of intricate forensic details combined with tingling suspense and deadly consequences, giving this book a chilling edge!
What starts out as a bleeding woman fleeing the hospital turns into a horrible case of infanticide that requires Tempe’s expertise. The bones of several infants are found in a run-down apartment belonging to Amy Roberts, but where is Amy? Tempe and her currently off-again lover Lt. Andrew Ryan start investigating, but their case quickly collides with one headed by Canadian Mounted Police sergeant Ollie Hasty. Tempe and Ollie had a brief fling years ago, which adds a layer of tension. Amy’s trail leads across the country to a remote diamond-mining town. What they discover is both sinister and highly distressing! (SCRIBNER, Sep., 304 pp., $26.99)
