Book Review

by Carolyn Haines

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery

RT Rating

Deep in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, a fantastic private investigator by the name of Sarah Booth Delaney has a funny way of ending up in extremely strange situations. This story becomes a fascinating mystery that no reader will be able to solve until the author reveals the end. A perfectly written mystery with a cast that is humorous, charming and deadly. Haines certainly is one of the best mystery writers working today.

Sarah is rambling around her family’s old Victorian while the love of her life, Graf Milieu, heads to Hollywood to star in a movie. He wants Sarah to dump the private-eye gig before she gets hurt … or worse. So when an insurance case comes along, tracking down a missing $4 million necklace, Sarah thinks it will make Graf happy. But soon the simple insurance case turns into a ransom case, and Sarah’s back to business as usual. (MINOTAUR, Jun., 340 pp., $24.99)
