This new Argeneau novel includes an excellent mystery as well as the usual delightful characters and sizzling romance interwoven with a bit of humor. The story continues enjoyably from the previous ones with many familiar faces.

Eshe d’Aureus is sent to Armand Argeneau’s farm to investigate the deaths of his life mate and the two wives he had after her. Armand is told Eshe needs a safe place to stay, because someone is out to get her. Both are surprised to learn they are life mates, and Armand is especially unhappy since he suspects the deaths of his wives were not accidents.

As Eshe questions Armand and those close to him, incidents start placing both of their lives in danger. Eshe realizes that her investigation could be the death of both of them. (AVON, Sep., 384 pp., $7.99)

Overall the book was wonderful, but I found it a bit to long.

Eshe and Armand made a great couple. He has the out look of a glass half empty and she has the opposite view. She brings light to his life.

The investigating into the death of Armand’s former wives is what took so long to solve. It was slow
but gave me a satisfying conclusion.

It just goes to show what can happen when you chose to sire the wrong person.
