This new Argeneau novel includes an excellent mystery as well as the usual delightful characters and sizzling romance interwoven with a bit of humor. The story continues enjoyably from the previous ones with many familiar faces.

Eshe d’Aureus is sent to Armand Argeneau’s farm to investigate the deaths of his life mate and the two wives he had after her. Armand is told Eshe needs a safe place to stay, because someone is out to get her. Both are surprised to learn they are life mates, and Armand is especially unhappy since he suspects the deaths of his wives were not accidents. As Eshe questions Armand and those close to him, incidents start placing both of their lives in danger. Eshe realizes that her investigation could be the death of both of them.
