Jackson carefully weaves the stories of charismatic detectives alongside a gripping suspense. And per Jackson’s excellent standard, the budding romance between the two primary suspense characters is brought to a satisfying climax and conclusion. It’s the perfect summertime read.

Dr. Kacey Lambert can’t help but notice that women who resemble her are ending up dead. The connection becomes even eerier when they all seem to have a connection to her home town. When she starts to dig into the matter she inadvertently moves her name up to the top of a psycho’s hit list. Trace O’Halleran seems to have a type, but all of the women he’s been attracted to have brought him heartache. Now Kacey Lambert has come into his life. As Kacey and Trace sort out their feelings for each other, more women die. They must put together the pieces with the help of detectives Selena Alvarez and Regan Pescoli.
