Though Violet Hardy has long harbored a crush on her irascible boss Blake Kemp, she can't take his rudeness anymore and leaves to work for his rival, Duke Wright. Her new job is challenging, but Violet enjoys it and spending time with her new boss. But when Blake re-enters Violet's life to announce he is investigating her father's death, things get very interesting for Violet. Diana Palmer's latest, Boss Man (2) gets off to a muddled and confusing start by introducing a host of secondary characters who don't contribute to the storyline. There are also several subplots, which only serve to distract from the romance as it develops. It's also unclear who the hero of the tale is supposed to be for much of the novel.
