After six months as millionaire Nicholas Monroe's assistant, Claire Dalgliesh is shocked by his sudden, unromantic marriage proposal. Nicholas is tired of being a target for marriage-minded females, and he desires Claire. She's attracted too and, since she needs her job to pay off her sister's blackmailer, Claire agrees. All's well until Nicholas forces her to wed sooner than planned. The blackmailer learns about the marriage and ups his demands. Jennie Adams' The Boss's Convenient Bride (2) boasts strong chemistry between Nicholas and Claire, but his actions seem less than heroically motivated. For those who like their heroes ruthless and arrogant only.
