Thinking she's doing her cousin a favor, Eve takes the woman's daughter to Malta to meet her father, but she finds out her cousin wasn't exactly truthful about her relationship with ex-husband Gabriel Brabanti. Gabriel falls instantly in love with the baby and is quite taken with Eve. The attraction is mutual, but when it looks like the relationship may turn permanent, Eve overhears information that makes her think Gabriel has ulterior motives for proposing. With the arrival of her cousin, the truth comes out, and Eve decides to return home, where she discovers she is carrying The Brabanti Baby (2). Catherine Spencer weaves an interesting tale of betrayal, but it's burdened by lackluster characters and a tedious plot.
