Not only is this a well-written romance (which Benjamin always does), but the characters are hysterical (including an iguana named Doris). The plot twists and evil schemes will have the reader guessing all the way to the end.

Deidre is the daughter of Houston millionaire Big John Brandenburg, who wants nothing more than for his daughter to quit her job and marry ex-NFL star Craig Dempsey. When she refuses, he cuts off her funds and Deidre hits the road. She settles in a small town to open a café. In order to make the money for her start-up business, Deidre takes a job working for Tom Ames, who owns the Faro Tavern. He rents her the empty storefront next to the Faro. Craig and his buddies resurface to make Deidre’s life miserable and force her to do what Daddy wants her to, but with her courage and strength, not to mention the deep love that’s forming between her and Tom, the bad guys find it almost impossible to win Big Daddy’s war.
