THE BRAVO BACHELOR (3) by Christine Rimmer: In his capacity as the family "fixer," Gabe Bravo is sent to persuade pregnant widow Mary Hofstetter to sell her ranch. But being there for the birth of Mary's baby changes Gabe's perspective, and so does his unexpected attraction to her. Eventually, they become lovers, but the gifts and financial help Gabe showers Mary with just aren't enough. She wants his love, which he may be incapable of giving to her. The plot and the conflict are reasonable, but it's difficult to believe that grief-stricken Mary would have sex with a man -- especially a slick charmer like Gabe -- only six weeks after giving birth to her late husband's child.
