BRAZEN
by Kelley Armstrong

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Urban Fantasy

RT Rating

Another man of the Otherworld receives attention in Armstrong’s latest, a long novella with illustrations by Xaviere Daumarie. Elena and Clay, key characters in previous tales, have brief scenes, but this is solidly Nick’s tale and he’s totally up to the task. Unfortunately, readers hoping for some romance won’t find much beyond a little flirting.

When the wolf pack receives word that the psychotic Malcolm Danvers is alive, Nick is assigned to kill him. To do so, Nick must work with the detective on Malcolm’s trail, a sexy half-demon named Vanessa. When Malcolm kidnaps one of her operatives, Nick and Vanessa hop on a plane without waiting for the pack’s permission. Stuck in Detroit without backup, the duo must rely on Nick’s tracking abilities to hunt their prey and Vanessa’s demonic fire power to stay alive. (SUBTERRANEAN, Dec., 216 pp., $28.00)
