Military romance is a somewhat unusual genre, but McKenna does it so well. Readers will find this addition to the Shadow Warriors series full of intensity and action-packed romance. There is great chemistry between the characters and tremendous realism, making Breaking Point a great read.
Operation Shadow Warriors is an ongoing experiment the U.S. military is facilitating to test the integration of trained female operatives in combat. Bay Thorn is a strong woman and has the training behind her to make her a real asset, but when the Alpha Platoon discovers she’s part of their unit, the Navy SEALs are less than welcoming. Her only ally is a loner who is as lethal as he is gentlemanly. Gabe is the only thing keeping Bay holding on when the antagonism of her team and the harsh terrain of Afghanistan become difficult to handle. Every day the attraction they feel grows, but in their line of work, falling in love can get you killed. (HQN, May, 352 pp., $7.99)
