by Connie Mason

Julian Thornton, both the Earl of Mansfield and the spy known as the Scorpion, is about to be unmasked by his arch enemy, the Jackal, when he jumps overboard into the icy waters off Scotlands coast.

Julian is rescued by Lara, a lovely half-Gypsy who finds him washed ashore. She calls him Drago and names him her husband when a band of cutthroats come looking for him. By repeating that he is her husband three times, Lara marries Drago by Rom law.

When Drago regains consciousness he is surprised, but not unhappy about being Laras husband. But both Julian and Lara are hiding secrets, and The Jackal remains a real danger to withstand.

While focusing on Lara and Julian, Ms. Mason also continues the story of other Thornton family members. Told with her signature styleplenty of plot twists, hot, hot love scenes and in-depth character studies. A BREATH OF SCANDAL fills every page with pleasure. VERY SENSUAL (Mar., 378 pp., $5.99)
