THE BRIDAL SWAP (4) by Karen Kirst: Tennessee, 1880: Kate Morgan arrives in Gaitlinburg to tell Joshua O’Malley that her sister has broken off their engagement. Planning on an extended stay, Kate is welcomed by Josh’s parents and finds herself much in Josh’s company. As Josh gets to know Kate, he realizes the qualities he thought he found in Francesca are all Kate’s. When she is put in danger by a man who claims she is his dead wife, Josh begins to see that God may have another future planned for him, but there’s something in Kate’s past that keeps her from feeling the same. Second in the Smoky Mountain Matches series, this story creates a great sense of place, with a bit of suspense.
