THE BRIDESMAID'S BEST MAN
On the rebound from a nasty breakup, businesswoman Sophie Felsham meets cattleman Mark Winchester at a wedding and sleeps with him. When pregnancy results, Sophie goes to Australia to discuss the situation in person. Mark's as surprised as Sophie is, and not really in a position to take on a wife and child, so the two decide to just be friends. Then their attraction flares again, and Mark asks Sophie to stay. But is that what's best, for either of them? Barbara Hannay's The Bridesmaid's Best Man (2) has some touching moments, but the slim plot, underdeveloped characters and lack of real conflict outweigh them.
