BRINGING MADDIE HOME (4) by Janice Kay Johnson: After escaping her abductor, Maddie Dubeau, who couldn’t remember her true identity, gave herself a new name and made her own way in the world. Police Captain Colin McAllister has never stopped searching for Maddie, and after 12 years he finds her working at a shelter in Seattle. Colin convinces her to come home after telling her who she really is. But coming home is problematic because someone in town seems to want Maddie dead, and Colin is the only person Maddie trusts to keep her safe. Maddie and Colin’s attraction is nicely woven into the tale, and Johnson’s skillful reveal of the guilty party will keep readers guessing. The story is nicely written and well-paced.
