The tension mounts as clues reveal a villain who turns out to be someone quite unexpected. There is a sense of family that grows throughout the novel and is supported by a well-developed cast of characters. Fast pacing adds another dimension to the story.

Rebecca James and her ex- husband Zach Ryler are named legal guardians of Zach’s orphaned niece and nephews after his sister and brother-in-law are murdered. The former couple reluctantly accepts the responsibility even though it means they’ll have to share the same house. Zach’s nephew Noah is rebellious, and losing himself in computer and video games.
