THE BROODING FRENCHMAN'S PROPOSAL
Genre: Series, Harlequin Romance, Current Series Imprints
THE BROODING FRENCHMAN'S PROPOSAL (2) by Rebecca Winters: An invitation to visit her friends Chantelle and Guy in France is a godsend for artist Laura Aldridge, who's separated from her husband and needs to get away. During her stay, Laura meets Guy's brother, businessman Raoul Laroche. Embittered by a difficult divorce, he's convinced that Laura is Guy's mistress and fights their attraction by treating her cruelly. By the time Raoul learns the truth, all could be lost. The basic plot is fine, if a little melodramatic. Raoul and Laura also have decent chemistry, but it's hard to stomach the way he acts toward her through most of the story.
