2005 Erotica Nominee

RT Rating

Beautifully written, this anthology of short erotic
fiction by 18 African-American writers is sensual and
wonderfully varied.

The writing level is extremely high, and the contributors, who include poets, mystery writers, fiction and nonfiction writers, offer a wide range of styles and points of view.

The theme of this fourth Brown
Sugar collection is secret desires:
desire for a writing muse, a new life
and lover, revenge or a one's brother-
in-law. The stories cover a wide range
of styles and tones, which adds to the reading enjoyment. They vary from funny to highly erotic to sad and
wistful to wise and thoughtful. (Feb., 308 pp., $14.00)
