Book Review

BULLS ISLAND
by Dorothea Benton Frank

Genre: Mainstream, General Mainstream Fiction

RT Rating

Frank has penned another winner that's engaging from page one. Her latest has it all--feuds, secrets and lost loves. The dialogue is crisp and authentic to South Carolina dialect. Pass this one on to a friend.

After many years of estrangement, Elizabeth "Betts" McGee returns home to South Carolina. Amid family feuds and compounding secrets, she and her former fiance, J.D., try to build a gated community on Bulls Island. They experience vandalism and negative press daily. To add to the pressures, those around them are dealing with a divorce, a stalker and a prescription drug addiction. However,
at the end of it all, love, forgiveness, tolerance and family come through stronger than before. (Morrow, May, 352 pp., $24.95)
