This fourth book in Gilman's engaging Retrievers series delivers -- it's fast-paced, laugh-out-loud funny and just plain entertaining. Wren and Sergei's relationship, as usual, is wonderfully written. As their relationship moves in an unexpected direction, it makes perfect sense -- and leaves the reader on the edge of her seat for the next book.
On top of that, Wren and her partner, Sergei, have hit a bumpy patch in their relationship -- and she's just not sure how to help him when she thinks that she's the cause. Working separately but on the same side, Wren and Sergei need to figure out a way to save not only their friends and chosen family from the vigilantes but also their relationship from each other.
