This story is a mix of longing, lust and love that draws the reader into a star-crossed relationship. The pace is fast, the characters are complex and the love scenes are hot. Although the protagonists come from different backgrounds, their mutual desire for more in life leads them along bumpy paths and makes them oddly vulnerable. Mynx’s story thrills and entertains.

Bootleg runner Silvio Garelli looks for shelter at a carnival while hiding from the cops. Before he can ask for help in transporting his product, he comes across hooch dancer Buttercup. Although it is love at first sight for him, it’s the 1930s and it’s forbidden for him to love a black woman. Years later, after busting out of jail for a crime he didn’t commit, Silvio wants to find Buttercup and have revenge on the people that kept them apart. But will he still want her after all Buttercup’s secrets are revealed? (THEDIVASPEN.COM, dl $3.99)
