Skye returns to Summer Island to follow up on the dreams of four lifelong friends. This story’s main character, Olivia, is shaken up by a romantic blast from the past, forcing her to face a bevy of emotions. The warmth of a Skye novel wraps you up like a cozy knitted sweater chasing the chill away. A true charmer.

Life hasn’t been going according to Olivia Sullivan’s plan. She couldn’t please her distant father during his life, and his death leaves her struggling to find out what happened to missing assets. Olivia just lost her job, and she needs income while she and her friends get their Harbor House project off the ground. Former bad boy Rafe Russo returns from Afghanistan looking for some peace. On his first day as deputy sheriff, a nasty traffic accident leads him back to Olivia. As teens, their love was forbidden, but now they’re all grown up. Unfortunately each is carrying baggage that could sabotage a new relationship. (HQN, Oct., 336 pp., $7.99)
