CAN'T STAND THE HEAT?
CAN’T STAND THE HEAT? (4) by Margaret Watson: Divorced mother of two Jen Summers is shocked to see Walker Barnes, her biggest high school mistake, at her friend’s wedding. Having not seen Walker since then, Jen has been able to live with her regret over sleeping with Walker in order to get him to change her boyfriend’s grade in a class, which cost Walker his college scholarship. When Walker demands a paternity test on her oldest son, Nick, they learn that Nick is Walker’s son. Watson combines interesting dialogue and well-drawn characters. Even though Walker is a grown man, one can see the geek he used to be, and Jen’s regret over her high school transgression with Walker is well depicted.
