What a treat to find a book that does it all and does it so well. Clare has crafted a fiery, heartfelt love story that keeps on surprising, featuring two strong, complex characters. Their explorations and emotional development are intense and beautifully told, matching wit and warmth with plenty of spice. With a world of rich detail and a cast of engaging supporting characters, this is a book, and a series, not to be missed.

Beth Anne Williamson has finally left her cheating fiancé for good and is determined to make her salon a success. But when she’s caught in the woods in a downpour, she has no choice but to rely on the one man who has never respected her. Ex-Marine Colt Waggoner hates being back in Bluebonnet and hates the stigma attached to his family in the town. When he finds Beth Anne, he tricks her into roughing it for the weekend to teach her a lesson. But soon their mutual hostility turns into something far more passionate. When they return home, both are committed to the other, regardless of the town’s opinions. How will they endure when Beth Anne’s fiancé returns and Colt’s deception comes to light?
