Fed up with her boring life, Caitlin McCormick is recruited by FBI agent Sean Maddox to play his mistress in a covert operation to find a blackmailer who murdered a diplomat. Their mission takes them to Pleasure Cove, where pleasure can be bought and discretion is guaranteed. Can Sean keep his mind on the mission and off Caitlin's innocent sexiness? Can Caitlin survive the mission with her heart intact? With a thin premise and shallow characters, Julie Miller's CARNAL INNOCENCE (1) seems contrived. The relationship and sensuality feel awkward and artificial rather than natural to the characters.
