Capitalizing on the popularity of computer blogging, this quick, entertaining story is filled with colorful characters: the stereotypical gay friend, a husband going through a midlife crisis and PTA parents discussing organic foods in school. The
one downside is that the ending leaves you wanting another chapter.

Cassie is a perfectly ordinary mom to two boys, until her husband, Rick, has a midlife crisis, quits his job and leaves her to produce a show about Barry Manilow. When the opportunity to have a job blogging about the breakup of her marriage arises, she figures she has nothing to lose. Her friends, family and mother-in-law stick by her, but what will she do when Rick begs to come home? (DOWNTOWN, Oct., 432 pp., $14.00)
