CARROT CAKE MURDER
by Joanne Fluke

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

A cup of coffee and a homemade treat are the perfect accompaniments for this sweet, uncomplicated story. Although the plot is on the light side, this latest Hannah Swensen story is still a pleasant read.

Murder always seems to find amateur sleuth Hannah, who owns The Cookie Jar bakery and is busier than ever helping her friend and business partner, Lisa, bake for a family reunion. But when Lisa's uncle Gus, who left town mysteriously 30 years ago, shows up for the reunion, not everyone is happy to see him. Soon Hannah finds Gus murdered.

When the family asks her to help find the killer, she realizes there were many people who wanted Gus dead. Hannah will have to put her own life on the back burner in order to catch a killer. (KENSINGTON, Mar., 336 pp., $22.00)
