CATCH OF A LIFETIME
Fennell's got detailed worldbuilding,
creative secondary characters and an impressive use of mythology in this great read. While this title is part of a series, it works well as a stand-alone. Although at times what comes between Angel and Logan are petty details, they are both incredibly textured characters.
Mermaid Angel Tritone desperately wants a position on her brother's ruling council. But he's too busy trying to keep her safe to listen to her ideas. So she sets off on her own and after barely surviving a shark attack, winds up on the deck of Logan Hardington's ship.
Logan doesn't know what to make of the beautiful blonde who claims to be a student. But when his young son is smitten with Angel, Logan agrees to keep her on as a temporary babysitter. When passion and tempers flare, the adults must put aside their feelings to rescue Logan's son from a shark attack, and a sea monster's evil plans. (SOURCEBOOKS, Feb., 384 pp., $6.99)
