This is one good deed that definitely rebounds, throwing the heroine into a dark and extremely treacherous world. A master of both plot and character, Potter weaves together a story that's both exciting and intense. It's not to be missed!

Paramedic Kirke Palmer unknowingly places herself in danger when she agrees to a hit-and-run victim's deathbed request to try to deliver a letter. Kirke suddenly becomes the target of a crooked and murderous former CIA operative.

Former special op Jake Kelly was just released from prison for a crime he didn't commit. Believed to be the only person alive after a botched mission, he took the fall. A call from a supposedly dead man brings Jake to Atlanta, but he's too late. Del Cox is dead, and Kirke holds what may be the key to the mystery. Stepping into this mess may be a deadly mistake for Kirke! (BERKLEY SENSATION, Mar., 304 pp., $7.99)
