THE CATTLEMAN, THE BABY AND ME (3) by Michelle Douglas: With her sister in jail, Sapphie Thomas inherits custody of her year-old nephew, Harry. Considering herself an unsuitable parent, Sapphie takes Harry to the outback to meet his father, cattleman Liam Stapleton. But Liam's actually Harry's uncle -- and he's very uncertain of his parenting skills. Liam offers Sapphie a job as housekeeper until they make some decisions, and she accepts. Attracted despite themselves, and the painful secrets they each keep, they try to make it work, but Liam isn't sure he can give Sapphie the forever she deserves. The characters are sympathetic enough, but their angst overshadows what little romance there is in their budding relationship.
