CAVANAUGH’S BODYGUARD (3) by Marie Ferrarella: While tracking a serial killer, Detective Bridget Cavalli and her law-enforcement partner Joshua Youngblood discover that they have feelings for one another. Meanwhile, Bridget is dealing with a revelation about her family history. The pace of this novel is slow, and the revisiting of the switched-at-birth premise drags it down even more. The suspense plot is decently constructed, but the dialogue between Joshua and Bridget is stilted. This isn’t a novel that will stick with readers.
