Secret Service agent Tessa Camen lays down her life for the president—or so she thinks. She awakens in the arms of a hunk named Kahn, who tells her she's been pulled through time in order to save Earth by winning an intergalactic challenge.

Tessa has trouble accepting Kahn's explanation, especially the part about her using her "psi" abilities to win. Since Tessa has none, this could pose a problem. Nevertheless, Kahn insists that she has the potential, and he can teach her to use it.

Sizzling sex and rousing adventure easily combine to produce a truly spicy and fun futuristic tale. The multitalented Kearney's story sparkles with excitement and thrills. (Feb., 386 pp., $6.99)
