A CHANGING MARRIAGE
Genre: Mainstream, General Mainstream Fiction
This book gives a great view of a typical marriage from the dating stage, to the honeymoon phase, to the not-so-great phases that come later. The author does an amazing job of achieving balance with the main characters, giving neither the husband nor the wife sole blame for the problems they face. The storyline is realistic, and one all readers can relate to, married or not.
Karen Spears and Bob Parsons experience love at first sight when they lay eyes on each other in college. The envy of all of their friends, their relationship is based on honesty and friendship and genuine love. After getting married right after graduation, they settle into their careers and look forward to starting their new lives together. However, the birth of their two children and Bob’s constant climb up the corporate ladder causes a strain to the new marriage. The two must look inside themselves to see if their marriage is worth fighting for. (KENSINGTON, Mar., 336 pp., $15.00)
