Book Review

CHARLOTTE FIGG TAKES OVER PARADISE
by Joyce Magnin

Genre: Inspirational, Contemporary Romance

RT Rating

Imaginative characters and quirky situations make this a great book readers will want to tell all their friends about. While domestic violence, in all its unpleasantness, is a common thread, the author gives the characters the gift of empowerment in a sweet, unusual way: through a women’s softball team. The community of Paradise is a joy to visit!

Charlotte Figg’s life changes overnight when her husband passes away suddenly. She decides to sell her home and buys a cute little trailer in the Paradise Trailer Park. Only her trailer isn’t the cute little one in the picture. With a lot of help from her new friends, Charlotte makes the best of her unexpected circumstance, fixes up her new home, gets to know some neighbors and even starts a softball team. As her team gets together, secrets Paradise has been keeping covered up begin to see the light of day and Charlotte is right in the middle of it all. (ABINGDON, Oct., 385 pp., $14.99)
