THE CHIEF RANGER
THE CHIEF RANGER (4.5) by Rebecca Winters: Vance Rossiter was the Ranger in charge when Rachel Darrow's brother and sister-in-law lost their lives on a Yosemite Park mountaintop, and he has been living with the guilt for months. On his therapist's suggestion, Rachel is bringing her 6-year-old nephew to try to relieve his trauma over his parents' deaths and her own feelings of anger. Vance is not what she expects, and before she knows it, both she and the boy have a case of hero worship. Winters' tale of three broken people forming an unbreakable attachment is terrifically heartwarming and wonderfully romantic. A real keeper.
