Readers beware: You will not be able to start this book without finishing it all in one sitting. Alive meets The Fugitive in this suspenseful second entry in the Bone Secrets series. Completely original, with a tremendous nail-biter of a plot, readers will be hooked from the very beginning. The characters are so realistic they almost seem to walk right off the page. Crank up the heat and prepare to get iced to the core!

Brynn Nealey is a death investigator on a mission with a search and rescue team to locate survivors of a plane crash in the Cascade Mountains. Alex Kinton is a former U.S. Marshal, conniving his way onto the team so he can find the man responsible for his brother’s death. They trek through a treacherous blizzard and endure the arctic cold of Oregon, only to uncover dead bodies amid the wreckage. The hunt is considered a huge letdown once they discover the escorted prisoner, whom they believe responsible for the crash, is missing from the aircraft. Alex refuses to ignore his gut and continues to pursue the murderer. Will Alex’s hunger for vengeance be easily dismissed and forgotten once he realizes he’s falling for the good-natured Brynn? Or will he stop at nothing to take the life of the killer, once they come face to face? (MONTLAKE, Aug., 316 pp., $12.95)
