Waverly’s back in book number four and her future’s looking bright until everything in her life takes a left turn. Her only good fortune is stalwart Jake, who sticks by her throughout the turmoil. In fact, he’s the glue keeping this book grounded when all else is akimbo. There’s a dynamic cast of characters adding to the mayhem and a plot well worth the read.
Waverly and Jake want a simple wedding. She already is juggling a successful television career on Honey on Your Mind with her flourishing retail venture, the Honey Shop. Unfortunately, his high-society mother wants a lavish affair at a place and time of her choosing. Waverly’s pregnant partner at the shop is bailing out, and a new producer on the show is threatening a new direction. Her best friend is acting strange, so Waverly’s at her wits’ end. When Jake’s mother pulls her into planning the extravagant wedding, it’s the final straw. Waverly’s caught up in the momentum of the wedding preparations until she realizes there’s a possible solution. (MONTLAKE, Apr., 285 pp., $14.95)
