A CHRISTMAS BEGINNING
Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Historical
The prolific and talented Perry does not disappoint with her most recent holiday mystery. The story moves along at a nice pace and encourages readers to deduce the killer's identity from the clues. There are enough twists to hold your attention until the very last page.
Superintendent Runcorn is spending the Christmas holidays on the Isle of Anglesey, an isolated place for a lonely man who has no family and few friends. But his vacation plans are put aside to search for a killer when he comes across the murdered body of a young woman. Widow Melisande Ewart's path has crossed Runcorn's before, during another murder investigation. She's living on Anglesey and begs him to solve this crime. But will he be able to fully concentrate on the clues with the beautiful Melisande by his side? (BALLANTINE, Nov., 190 pp., $17.95)
