Recently paroled from prison, widowed cattleman Daniel Renton is quietly rebuilding his life when Lily Halliday runs out of gas near his home. Just back from a volunteer stint overseas, Lily is a breath of fresh air -- and a chance for Daniel to escape his past. With Lily's support, he takes custody of his daughter, but the girl's unhappy about his new relationship. Giving Lily up will be difficult, but Daniel may have no choice. Barbara Hannay's Claiming the Cattleman's Heart (3) has a lovely setting and good characters, but the romance is rushed and not completely believable after all the characters have been through.
