CLEAN SWEEP
by Ilona Andrews

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Urban Fantasy

RT Rating

What started as a fun experiment in writing an online serial for readers resulted in a humorous and thrilling novella featuring the exploits of a cosmic innkeeper. Chock full of mystery, cool tech, magic and fascinating characters, Andrews’s work again showcases her unbeatable worldbuilding skills. As an added bonus, there is stunning artwork included depicting the major characters. Thankfully Andrews has indicated this is only the first adventure, since this is one universe readers will be hungry to visit again very soon!

Dina Demille appears to run an ordinary B&B in a small Texas town — but scratch the surface and you’ll find something completely different. Dina is a magical “innkeeper” whose nearly sentient inn is a sanctuary for otherworldly travelers, and let’s just say her little Shih Tzu is named “Beast” for a reason. When local dogs are killed, Dina realizes something “other” has arrived and is hunting. Also tracking this deadly creature is new neighbor Sean Evans, an alpha-strain werewolf. Add in the arrival of Arland, a cosmic vampire soldier, and this small Texas town has just become a battleground. (ILONA-ANDREWS.COM, Dec., 234 pp., $10.99)
